Hello,

I have an athlon AMD 1.4 ghz pc, I bought a new fancy case for it the other day and fitted an LED fan to the sfan1 port on the pc, but I think it must of tripped something out, as I have not been able to power it up since. Anybody have an suggestions, they'd be greatly appriciated.

Thanks in advance

Did you unplug the fan? Try with another power supply.

And yes, it could be that your fried your motherboard. Did you check the amps rating on that connector and the power draw of your fan? Those older mobos were not quite meant for the monstrous pimping devices of today :)

you could have fried the PSU too. Older motherboards also had lower PSU wattages. All the new stuff you added could have overloaded the PSU.

Thanks for your response, but I think I'm just going to take it to a shop to get sorted, hopefully they won't charge to much :)

merry xmas all.
