somehow, someway my sound and Ethernet just die on me.... mostly during the playing of Empire at War.... and at first i thought it was the fault of Empire at war but today it happened suddenly a few minutes After i stopped playing Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge (First Decade DVD)

i am totally lost at what causes it... i build the system and never had any problems really but now this started to happen

here are some system specs hope they help, cuz i dunno what to do anymore

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3000+
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X-X (Onboard Sound and Ethernet)
1536MB DDR
ATI Radeon X850
Primary Master (HDD): ST3402111A (Seagate 40GB)
Primary Slave (HDD): 6L250R0 (Maxtor 250GB)
Secondary Master (DVD): Plextor DVD-ROM PX-116A2
Secondary Slave (DVD-RW): AOpen DUW1608/ARR

if any more information is needed just ask

Causes of disconnects -

1.Firewalls/Routers/Security software wrongly configured

2.Other programs running in the background (can include spyware).

3.Other people on your LAN.

Please read my post proper it's not just my internet/Lan that goes down and out.... my sound also and i noticed too that i can't run a Single program without getting an error!

As for Firewalls - Disabled
Router has a firewall but has never given me problems before
and security software the only thing i have is Bullguard

Background programs i keep those 2 a minimum.... most what i have running is Xfire + Trillian + game and that never caused any real problems either as far as i know

as for other people on my LAN the only would be my brother that is on it but he has no connection 2 my PC because he kinda isnt included in my network i have upstairs... and as for that... it never has been a problem from that either.... i think it's something that causes a conflict between the program and my Mainboard drivers or something

The only thing that you didn`t account for,is the spyware possibility.

That could account for most of those symptoms.

When you say the sound goes down,do you mean sound in all programs ?
System sounds ?

I have to hit the sack now,but the next poster will help. Meanwhile scan for nasties.

scanned with Ad-aware and Spybot S&D only found cookies
most junk gets blocked cuz of S&D's immunity
and the rest get's killed by my AV

as for the sound...
it gets totally disabled... if i rightclick normally i hear a small sound playing but it doesnt
and if i try 2 run an MP3 the system says something about Direct sound (as if i don't have any drivers installed or something)
