PC Shutdown automatically while downloading/file transfer

  1. My laptop turns off (without any warning) in the middle of downloading music, transfering audio files (i.e. from my music to i-tunes, copying cd to media player) and when i am listening to audio (quicktime player). This has been happening more often now and just recently, i also received a message "hkdrv is absent" when i restarted my computer. My friend told me that it could have something to do with the power supply or voltage. My laptop is plugged to a voltage surge suppressor, is that no help? What should i do?Any help will be greatly appreciated! :giddy:

Check your temps. Laptops being so compact with every component crammed in there will get warm. Get some compressed air and blow out your air intakes and exhausts.
