    I know what your thinking,,,,,what??

so here it is,, i formatted my HDD, reinstalled OS,drivers, burner software(NERO)&MOBO utilities. i checked all "power" related settings and all are normal.(IMO)
    i'm running win98SE
the only other thing i loaded was Kazaa.
it goes through the normal shut-down processes my pc does shut down but then powers back up.
I have to use my power-strip to keep it off!
Please help folks,,,m at a major loss

    just a quick suggestion,
check your motherboard jumpers and test your pc's power switch. One way to see if the switch is at fault is unplugging the power wire that connects to the motherboard, then to power the pc simply "short" the two motherboard pins where the wire connects to, but only "short" the pins long enough for the pc to show signs of it being on. After windows loads up, turn off the pc. That should keep it off if the problem was with the switch. Hope this helps, I'm sure someone else with come up with different suggestions.
