I haven't built a system in a very long time and I might need some help.I am currently using a biostar P4VMA-M motherboard with a celeron processor running windows XP home edition. I just bought a Pentium Prescott 478 Pin 2.4 Ghz processor. Will I need to upgrade to cooling fan that is installed on the celeron and will I have any unforeseen problems? Please advise.

Ge the biggest cooling fan you can, don't forget the thermal paste the Prescott's run very hot. You should not have any issues at all.

It would probably be recommended to get a new cooler designed to handle the heat of the prescott p4 chips. That said, if the current cooler is substantial enough, it may work... So I guess if you want to save money, try it and see what temperatures you get under load. If it runs too hot, then get a new cooler.

The exsisting heat sink and fan are OEM for the Celeron. Will it still fit onto the prescott processor
