best just to uninstall re-install
the uninstaller may give you option to repair
putting the program in to deep of folders can cause this
like MS programs
adobe likes C drive better

oh I did that. same thing.

after uninstall look for left over reg files and other stuff
adobe has a cleaner for the newer cs3 they may have one for version 7
try CCcleaner free to use may help with leftover junk
