I am currently running a PIII 650 (100 FSB) on my GA-GVXE7 Mother Board, I have now bought a PIII 850 (133FSB) Chip and I swapped the chips over, making sure I had changed the both the switches on the m/b correctly, and at startup It showed up as a 850EB PIII, but then it wont boot, it gets to the stage where it detects your IRQ devices and stalls, but if i change the jumpers to say a PIII 800 (100FSB) then the processor shows up as a PIII 600EB and boots into windows fine!!!!

    Please help

    Cheers

I agree, it seems as though there should be a BIOS update. I just upgraded my 800EB to an XP Athlon. The 800 should work in any MoBo that supports a 600EB. If not I have a Abit be6-2 for sale.....he he he.
