Pipeline ripoff?

I just read this review on newegg about some people buying a (i think) Geforce 6800GT card that was suppose to have 16 pipeline but they found out it only had something like 8 pipes and they had to send it back. Does anyone know how I could check how many pipelines my card has?

There is a new 6800XT out that has 8 pipes. All GT's and Ultras are 16. Rivatuner is a good program for card info and overclocking.
