Hello all,

I have what I think is a problem with my Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB video card. I have connected my TV to the computer via video out and I am able to get the desktop to appear on the TV screen.

However, whenever I try and play a DVD on the computer the connection cuts out. I have tried uisng Windows Media player and Power DVD neither will allow play back on the TV for some reason. DVDs will play back fine on the computer itself. Other video files play without any problem on the TV.

Has anybondy heard of a problem like this before?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

James

"cuts out" means what? When exactly and how exactly does this happen?

Try disabling video overlays in the player setup.

Sorry should have been more specific. When I say the picture cuts out that signal seems to stop transmitting to the TV as soon as I start to play a DVD.
