Please help i cant download anything

I try to download any kind of program, game , or anything else and the download just freezes up either in the begining or in the middle with any web browser this happens in. So i cant download anything it just freezes up. i tried using opera and the speed started off good and then it went down and down. Then it froze again. can anyone help me with this problem. so i can start downloading again.

I also used zone alarm then i deleted it.. i also have TCP optimiz.

describe FREEZE: does it just stop downloading OR does the browser stop
responding to any clicks?

It just stops downloading the browser still works.

couple of thoughts. if you're DL via some BitTorrent, then you've just swamped
the ISP and they are controlling the thruput. do you have any idea of how big
the file is and how far you are into it when it STALLS?
Are you using some kind of download manager?

Right now i am not using any download manger im just using opera web browser and i tried download AVG anti virus which is like 19mb and the download just stoped half way because my speed went to "?" in opera how it shows the speed.
