I think I'm having the same problem as moocheih, though I haven't been able to fix anything.

I have followed the steps here (https://www.techspot.com/community/...lware-removal-preliminary-instructions.58138/)
After running housecleaner, it found 2 malware and 3 spyware. It wasn't able to completely remove the vundos, so I used the vundo remover,
which found four differnet files. It was unable to delete one of them (after a restart) but I used dr. Delete on it. However, I am still
having problems. After changing my homepage, after a restart it will revert back to http://www.midgetlink.com/t1.php which redirects
to yahoo. Also, after clicking on basically anything, there will be a popup that cannot be blocked. The computer also runs slowly when loading webpages. When I restarted my computer, the program brdr was shutting down, which I have since removed as it is a virus. The problems have still continued, hopefully this is all the information you need to help me. Thank you very much in advance.

The panda antirootkit didn't find anything.

are you sure you followed every step in the thread you mentioned?

where are your combofix and antispyware logs then?

Your system is infected with a variety of malware.

I need to see all the requested log files and the results of the Panda Antirootkit scan.

Sorry for missing so many things, I guess I did miss some afterall. Well, the pandaantirootkit didn't really produce any log, but I took a screenshot of it and included that, as well as the combofix, avg anti-spyware, and a new hijackthis log. If I still forgot something, let me know. Thanks again.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

viewpoint
viewpoint toolbar
viewpoint manager
WinUpdater

Uninstall all versions of Java. that`s because you`re running an outdated version and it`s a security risk.

Close control panel.

Click start/run and type services.msc into the run box and press the enter key.

When the window appears, maximise it. Double click on the following services(if there) and select stop if they are running. Set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok for each service you disable.

Viewpoint Manager Service

Close the services window.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

ViewpointService.exe
update.exe
ViewMgr.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll (file missing)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {232D2677-68EE-4FA1-B988-279EBC8969ED} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxyxxw.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WinUpdater] "C:\Program Files\WinUpdater\update.exe" /background

O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Viewpoint Corporation - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or folders(if there).

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
C:\Program Files\WinUpdater

Reboot into normal mode and rehide your protected OS files.

Go HERE, download and install the latest version of Java.

Post fresh HJT and Combofix logs.

All clean mate.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

edit: The desktop icon didn't work, but I assume that's from the change. Everything appears to be fantastic. Thank you very much.

Try this and see if it helps.

1.) Download WinsockFix.zip. (by: Option^Explicit)
2.) UnZip WinsockFix.zip (Pay close attention to where the file is extracted to.)
3.) Run WinsockFix.exe.
4.) Click the Fix button.
