Unfortunately I havent been able to get on with dealing with damned laptop until tonight! Apologies for not getting back to you. I did as advised above, although I have AVG running at the moment and it still appears to be finding the swizzor.8.bk back up files on my computer! AAARGH.

I will also let you know the outcome of AVG scan and what happens in the next hour as the virus appears to download on the hour.
(By the way I ran the preliminary steps on my daughters computer as she also had trillions of viruses when I checked her system and this process removed the swizzor.8.bk! Lucky for her but frustrating for me ! haha)
