Inactive Possible infection, lingering iexplore32 and processes after closing explorer.

Thanks for helping me though, it isolated the problem for me and made it possible to find a solution.
Once I get an answer to whether it was or wasnt showing signs of infection (or if it was false positives), then I can move on.

One of the best support ive had in awhile really, you deserve a paycheck for this! :)
You could make some serious money with your knowledge of fixing.
I suggest leaving atleast a "Donate to us through paypal if your happy with our services" on your profile.
You do more work then most payed support and provide far more serious solutions.

In short:
With the current situation, was it false postives on the scans we did and is it safe to format now?

Im confused. So I havent changed anything since last time (since your farbar fix failed partially).
And im unsure how I got the infections.
I guess ill pay the delay things for now.
How do I proceed?

Because if I did a format, and I did the same thing (the checklist from the first post)... it would be infected...again.

That malware bytes is shown as zeus, was described by the program as possible false positive. Clean malwarebytes and reinstall it?
The security virus (or whatever it was), its removed?
The farbar fix, for things. Failed apparently partially (the process in specific that needed to be closed and removed). Proceed to try again?
Please be more specific with things :(

This is how windows update behaves on format:
First check, auto-closes. Needs to be relaunched.
1 to 2 hours long delay to check for 150+ updates
1 to 2 hours long install.
Then needing to install SP1 twice.
(refer to the first post I made, for other details)

Further more, how do I get an actual "clean" install if my PC was infected?
Do I need to buy the discs in stores, for kaspersky and malwarebytes and windows 7 (to avoid the 2 hour update checking)?

Im assuming your "Nope" means "you have infections"? Is this correct?

My questions are:
1: Is it false positives or actual infections with what we went through?
2: Is the quarentine from combofix actual malware or just "suspected infections"?
3: Was the files you attempted to clean out with farbar actual infections or just "suspected infections"?
4: If it is infections that you found that are dangerous, can you tell me more about them and how they get on PCs so I can avoid them better in the future?
5: What software should I regularly run/scan with in the future thats recomended?
6: Is running windows update for 2 hours (to find the right updates) and it having the behavior as I listed above the normal behavior?
7: If windows is being unuseable, can I format to get "clean" and working install of windows with all that we have done. Or do we need to use other tools to remove the removal programs first?

Ill recomend my friends to visit this forum if they have issues, and I hope I wasnt too much of a hassle to deal with.
