    Heh. Just do it. All it is is another taskbar icon, which he won't notice unless he scans every computer for anything new ;)

    What's the worst that could happen?

    Or you can install Firedaemon and run it as a service, no tray icon to worry about.

    Now back to the System Specs topic, I was thinking I could add some custom fields into the Forum Member profile page so you could also fit your System Specs in there (CPU, videocard, etc etc...). Then use it linking to it like some people does with their Anandtech rig pages.

    Only drawback is you might be limited to one system since we are talking of simple system fields that will gather the information (like currently you have hobbies, interests, etc. fields).

    Any opinions?

    Problem is, I'm only there once a week for probably a couple hours... maybe when summer vacation comes i may have better luck. :dead: And my dad requires me to delete anything i download to the machines, when i'm finished using them. :dead:

    @Julio:

    when i formerly worked on a site which used a vB, simply adding the fields wasn't cutting it... that is if anyone had multiple machines that they wanted to show off... it was much work just to get all the fields in. i may suggest getting some scriptmonkeys around to do something similar to what anandtech does... just my $.02 there

    Talk to him about it then. Pose the question of putting UD on them, explain what it is...

    Julio - Something along the lines of this then...

    I see how having multiple machines may be problematic. People like Papa can have their favorite machine take up the stats, but provide a link to the specs of everything else.

    I think this is a good idea. It will cut down on a little of the clutter in people's signatures. Especially the ones that are 8 lines long and take up so much room. I feel that people can input their most used system into there and if they have another they can specify it elsewhere, or in their sig, but having all systems in your sig is getting ridiculous. Just my opinion. I think it is something worth looking into though.

    I think it's a good idea Julio - for all the reasons already stated.
