Power light flashes

  1. I found a 1.7 ghz p4 motherboard on the cheap to upgrade my old p3 667, and i bought it in "working" condition, but i don't think so. Anyways, i got a pentium 4 support psu hooked up, and some pc-800/8 ram (it takes pc-800, would it work with pc-800/8?), and powered it on, and it just makes some strange beep code, followed by 1-1-1-1 beep code, but it dosen't post or show the bios, just a blank screen. So i reset the bios by taking out the battery for about 8 hours to ensure there was no charge left, and powered it back on, now it does not beep, but the power light just blinks, and still no screen.

Anyways, it is an HP-Vectra VL-800 motherboard
    P4 1.7 ghz socket 423
    pc-800/8 (takes pc-800 ram, but i think 800/8 works?)
the cpu fan comes on if that is any help.

ok, i just set all the motherboard swithes to on, and now it gives me a beep code of 1 1-1-1 1-1-1 1. Anyone know what that means?

ok, now the fan is running really fast, and the power light dosen't blink, but stays on until the light on the motherboard turns off. Still beeps
