Power Supply query

I have Dell Dimension 4600, currently with 250W power supply which apparently is not enough for my ATI 9800 PRO card and my card got fried somehow...so now I am in the process of getting a new card mostly ATI X700 PRO. This card needs a 300W PSU and hence I plan to upgrade my PSU to 300 watt...

I dont know much about PSU's...is there something that I need to look at before buying the PSU ..like will my motherboard or other devices ...wiil they accept 300W PSU...dont really know if it matters...I also need some recommendations on where and how to find the right PSU that will fit in my 4600.

Please help

The only thing that I can't answer (and hopefully someone can) is about the connection to your motherboard, and whether or not Dell has done something crazy like use some "Dell specific" connectors.
