Powered PC off accidentally and now speakers don't work

I accidentally powered off my PC and when I powered it back on I can only get sound through the headphones. The speakers still seem to have power (they "pop" when I turn them on) but no sound comes through them.

Sometimes the sound installed drivers become corrupted
You may need to re-install the drivers again

Sound problems can be really easy, or take a long time to resolve!
Lets just hope this is one of those easy fix problems!

Thaks for the info -- the system keeps telling me that there's nothign wrong with the sound card and that there are no better drivers - do I have to un-install the device?

Ideally un-install them (and restart) and and re-install the original (or new ones from downloading from your manufactures site)
