  1. Amazon.com, the web's largest retailer, posted on Thursday a quarterly profit below Wall Street forecasts while vowing to continue free shipping incentives.

    Tech-Report has put up an useful CPU information table for all current Intel and AMD processors. Ever since model numbers appeared to replace MHz frequencies there's a lot of confusion over actual speeds, FSB, cache size, even socket... this will come handy.

    Microsoft revenue climbs 15 percent: The world's largest software vendor reported net income of $2.69 billion on revenue of $9.29 billion for the fourth quarter of its 2004 fiscal year, ended June 30. That compared to net income of $1.48 billion on revenue of $8.07 billion in the year-earlier period, the company said in a statement.

    msft is down an additional 3% today as even news of it's dividend payback isn't soliciting a buy in on the stock.
