Printer driver is enormous

I recently acquired a Pantum 2502W wireless laser printer. Appears to be a new company selling at a loss to get a foothold in the market. Nice printer for a steal. Anyway, the driver download for the device is over 100 MB and unzipped it's over 300 MB! Doesn't that seem staggeringly huge? Would anybody know why it might be that big?

Even if you have no idea (and you ordinarily know your way around printers) letting me know that fact would be helpful to me. Thanks.

HP is ~like that too. However, you're getting more than just the driver, typically
scanner, fax software, wifi support and direct access to ink supply purchase.

Thanks. Good to know. Many might recall that all of Windows 95 was about 200 MB, and people were marveling at how it was the world's largest and most complex computer program. And here's 300+ MB just for a driver! That's as much data as the encoded text of 300+ lengthy books. OK, I'm ranting here, but I have one of those computers that comes with just a tiny storage drive, and that darn driver takes up a sizable part of it.
