Printer printing to light

    Hello everyone,

    My problem today is that I have an HP LaserJet 5M that has just been printing so light that you can barely make out the words.

    There is a new toner cartridge in the machine (we watched the user pull it out of the box when she got here, new). I also changed the Toner Density in the Config menu from 3 to 5 and had little change in color.

    I don't know what else to check. There is no ghosted image on any of the sheets so I don't think it's a problem with the fuser but maybe I'm missing something.

    If anyone has any ideas at all please let me know.

    Check for some "economy mode" or "draft" setting in the user application or printer properties.
