PROBLEM booting laptop from cd

  1. hello everyone, i'm new one here and i need your help.
    the problem i'm having is that i can not boot from winxp cd to reinstall windows. firstly, bios is locked and i don't know the password. secondly, when i'm trying to install win xp is os mode it tells me that i already have newer version of windows and it is impossible to install on this way. thirdly, when the laptop starting up it doesn't detect winxp cd, so it doesn't boot up. what should i do???please help me.THANKS

    You cant install an OS whilst using the OS and its saying newer version because you have all the lates updates from MS and they are time stamped.

    What you should do is see if you also have any restore disks for ghosting so the PC will be set back to out of the box condition, but ofcourse we would need to know make and model of PC first of all as PCs restore in different ways.

    If you do not know the BIOS password.. Do you even have the right to format this machine?
