Problem playing Turok, GeF2 & Win/ME

    Turok runs/doesn't run on geforce 2

    I am trying to play an old game called Turok Dinosaur Hunter(retail version) on my PC. I have Win Me/geforce 2 mx (tv out)/ P4/Sb Live. After clicking start game a black screen comes up saying Turok D3DHal and my display freezes. Strangely enough, the game has worked twice but the other dozens of times I have tried it the black screen comes up and freezes my computer. I am very confused. Anyone have any suggestions or any luck playing this game on later gen. computers?:confused:

    virtual DOS mode

    If it's a DOS game, Win/Me is the problem. Some old classic games need to run in exclusive DOS mode. Windows Me is able run DOS programs inside a window, called "virtual DOS mode". Your description sounds like that problem.

    I was recently faced w/ that problem.
    Win/ 98 -or- Me ?
