I'm new to this support site. Found driver for an old modem on my win98 pentium system. Download successful. Problem unzipping it with winzip8.0. Error msg says format unrecognized. Try download again with a different pc, some thing. Suggestions anyone??

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Can you give me a link to where you got the driver, and the exact driver you downloaded?

Have you tried extracting the file using winra? You can get a free trial version of winra from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=524

Please send me the link again. I forgot to say that newcomers can`t post urls until they have 3 posts or more. This is Techspot policy in order to deter spammers.

Here is the link again without the techspot.com before it:

    /drivers/driver/file/information/1335/PCTEL-HSP56-PCT388P-Modem-driver-Windows-95-98/

Ok. I will download the file now, and get back to you with the results.

Ok. I downloaded the file from the link you gave me, and I wasn`t able to unzip it because it was corrupt. I tried this several times with the same result.

I then tried one of the alternative mirrors and it was successful.

So goto the link you gave me, and just under the Download now button, click on more download links, and download from the neonet.com link.

    Regards Howard :) :)
