Problem with audio configuration?

I have the dreaded "?" next to Multimedia Audio Controller. Maybe I have the wrong driver as I've tried to search for a few and none have worked or solved the problem. When trying to play audio files via Itunes or WM, it gives the error message "A problem with the audio configuration". Anyone know how to correct this? Here are my specs:

2.20 gigahertz AMD Mobile Athlon 64
1024 kilobyte primary memory cache Board: Gateway 65.08.00
Serial Number: V5BWM050070VPF400X
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix 65.08.00 06/28/2005

So is this a Gateway laptop? Can we have the model number and serial number?

Thanks, just found out the problem as Gateway had the wrong driver posted. Uninstalled and installed the correct driver and worked recognized instantly. Thanks for the help.
