  1. Hi,

Accidentally opened an MSN file I got ( and got some kind of infection. I have done all the steps in the virus and malware removal thread and created the attached logfiles. I found no unknown rootkits with the Panda Antirootkit program. I couldn't find a valid Combofix so I used the DSS instead.

Can someone help me with the cleaning?

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

    Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

    O4 - HKCU\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [NTSpool] NTSpool.exe

    O16 - DPF: {288C5F13-7E52-4ADA-A32E-F5BF9D125B84} (CR64Loader Object) -

    O16 - DPF: {87056D28-9730-4A47-B9F9-7E890B62C58A} (WildfireActiveXHost Class) -

    O16 - DPF: {935F9B04-0C7B-4454-A391-348C54AD7ADD} (Jolly Bear Games Player) -

    O16 - DPF: {BD8667B7-38D8-4C77-B580-18C3E146372C} (Creative Toolbox Plug-in) -

Click on the fix checked button.

    Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or folders(if there).

Click start/run and trype regedit into the runbox and hit the enter key.

Navigate to the following regkey(if there) and delete the bold portion.

    Close regedit.

Reboot into normal mode and rehide your protected OS files.

Post a fresh main.txt and let me know if you`re still having problems.

    Regards Howard
