A friend of mine's graphic card recently crashed so he bought a new one. He's upgrading from an ATI 9800 to a Nvidia 7600. He uninstalled the drivers for the ATI, and then shut down to replace the card. When he booted up, the computer booted, but he got no display. Anybody know what's going on?

perhaps the vga/dvi cable is defective?

it might also help to put the radeon 9800 back in (without installing the radeon drivers), install the nvidia driver package, then replace it again with the 7600.

to make sure the 7600 is not defective, try it in a different pc.
