Problems connecting to websites during 8-step removal

  1. I'm currently completing step 3 of the 8-step malware removal
    instructions but my firefox browser cannot connect to to check for any updates. it says "The
    connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the
    page was loading." but only does this when i try to connect to this
    update site. Also, my chrome browser is not functioning so i cannot
    try with that. Should i just skip this part and continue to next
    steps? any help would be appreciated.
