Problems galore

  1. Wondering if anyone is having these problems?
    1) When I surf the internet, any link that opens a new window is automatically shut down leaving only the original window.
    2) Programs that are attached to my taskbar such as internet explorer cannot be opened using the taskbar. Have to go in under control panel.
    3) Certain desktop programs cannot be accessed unless selected two different times or in some cases have to be accessed through the program files.
    4) Puzzle Pirates download says "jar" file cannot be accessed.

    I have Mcafee which will only offer assistance for an additional fee and ZoneAlarm which I am thinking of uninstalling and going with the windows firewall.

    Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

    I suggest you scan your system for viruses/malware etc.

    Go HERE and follow the instructions in the order they are given.

    Post a fresh HJT log as an attachment, only after doing the above.
