Problems Playing Videos and Audio On Sites

Whenever I try to play a video that is in embedded in a website it wont play it just shows a black screen and when i try to play audio on a site i get an error message that says Unable to establish connection with site server
I don't know if its a port problem or what It used to work fine I may have scrwed something up.

What software are you using as your default media player?

Whatever it is, try upgrading it to the latest version. In other words, if you are using Microsoft Media Player, go to Microsoft's site and download the latest version and see if that fixes you up.

It is also possible that it was just a codec that you were missing, and in downloading the latest version it has some codec updates.

What software are you using, is it Quicktime? Or Real Media?
