What are the differences between Intel Core 2 Duo, Dual Core, and just normal pentium 4 processors? Also, what is the difference between Intel and AMD? Is Intel better seeing how AMD is much cheaper than Intel? Thanks for the help!

There are many sites you can access with a Google search that will take you to long reviews... better for most than the space and time limits of this forum.

If you really want an answer to this question, you really are just going to have to do a lot of reading. I'll try to sum up the basics best as I can, and post some links for you.

Intel, until very recently utilized incredible speed, with poor efficiency and poor heat control. AMD used less speed, but was far more efficient. Basically per clock cycle Intel chips would send fewer commands then AMD chips.
That is, until recently, the new Core Duo two changed much of that. As far as stats I don't know, but Intel is utilizing it's clock cycle to command ratio far more efficiently. They have also done a much better job as far as heat control.
Dual core is simply two CPU cores in one chip. This is far better for multitasking, but it's usefulness in gaming is not yet certain.

I realize that was not really very well written, so anyone who can, feel free to correct and comment as you see fit. Anyway, here are some links for you if you want some reading to do. And remember, Google is your best friend :)

Anway, I hope this helps, peace out man!
