Programs crashing when they connect to the internet

I reinstalled windows on my desktop and installed all the drivers but whenever a program tries to connect to the internet, it crashes. I'm wondering if I'm still missing a driver or something
didn't install properly?

Need specifics: system?, OS?, why reinstall OS?, which programs cause crash?, error reports on crash?, errors listed in Event Viewer (especially those timestamped as just before crash)?
