Programs won't start

  1. Hiya guys, I'm on my laptop now but my desktop with Windows XP won't open explorer, itunes or start a scan with Shield Deluxe. It won't open most programs for the most part ie Mawarebytes..etc. I can see in the task manager window that itunes initialized and starts building but then stops. Attempting a scan with Shield Deluxe gets me this, "The scanning process as not started in the required time interval. Press OK to close the Shield Deluxe." Also won't start in safe mode.

    Is this a problem with my OS or is it a virus?

    I'd say Virus

    Try Safe Mode with Networking, and then run through the 8-Step Guide

    But don't post your Attachments here though.
