"protection support" virus?

"protection system" virus?

there is a program "protection system" which was installed on a computer. lots of problems.

anyone know how to deal with this?

any program we try to open there are error messages.

But the file name always starts with UAC

1. I was able to download mbam, but not install (tried many times rebooted, no luck, therefore no log).
2. I was able to download superantispyware. But again, not able to install and run.
3. I was able to download and install Avira (log attached)
4. I had an older copy of dss, it ran, log attached (both main & extra)
5. I could not load the most recent hijackthis. But I was ablto to open an older copy. Log attached.

after running the dss, i was able to run mbam and super. i have attached the logs.

Are you infected? You can start dealing with it just like you would with any virus or malware infection

Looks good... once again, how is the system running now that you have cleaned up things?

system is running well. the avira pops up that the virus is trying to load again, so i think it may still be his somewhere.

Also, on the scans, combofix shows as a virus. i thought combofix was used by this board last year. i think it actually helped this time.
