I recently replaced my old ball mouse with a new optical mouse. Last night I noticed the optical tracking light on the mouse was on after the computer has been shut down for several hours. Thee is no power going to the keyboard port though. I have checked in the BIOS and the only option dealing with PS/2 ports was a power up feature for the keyboard, which is disabled. I have changed the mouse drivers from the windows configured ones to the manufactuers drivers, but still no change. The current BIOS has several updates avaiable, but flashing the BIOS to a newer version probably won't have a affect. Everything else works fine.
What could be the problem? Any ideas where to explore?
