ps2 dropped and won't spin the disc

Dropped a newer slim ps2 on the corner by the reset button (on accident!). Out of warranty, so I took it apart, and all connections appear to be made. When powered on with the cover off, the disc will not spin, but I'm unsure if there is a safety switch preventing this. Takes me to the Browser/System Config screen and all those functions appear to work. Model # is SCPH-70012. Looking for a step in the right direction, as I have never messed with ps2, but do have electronic experience. Thanks in advance for your replies.
