Well the netflix thing isn't streaming from your PC to your PS3, its pulling netflix directly off the web. Its much more enjoyable watching a movie on your big screen HDTV with your 5.1+ surround than it is a computer monitor.

Ooo...so how is it streamed to your TV from your PC? Like whats the setup requirements? You should have the 7.1 surround sound im waiting on buying my surround sound so I can have it :D

The xbox does that with the media center extenders I believe. I don't have a 360 so I haven't paid attention to that. I'm not sure how or if it is done on a PS3.

My setup is Computer connected with VGA to VGA in on my TV. When I connect my laptop (or now my new mac mini) to my tv it will be DVI to HDMI cable (bought from monoprice). The PC I have connected (and laptop) have wireless cards in them, and I have videos shared on my wired PCs. Streaming over wireless can at times be bad (or not work for HD content) so its easier to put files on an external drive first. Wireless kb and mouse are also helpful.

This is NOT how I will eventually have it, but I thought maybe I should get a pic up since I've talked about my setup a few times in this thread.

Xbox is pictured, and its modded, but I don't have an easy way to wire it to really utilize the features of a modded xbox. Wii is also pictured, and it sticks out a bit, but I can hide that by placing it on the floor between the dvd rack and the tv stand. But now do you guys see my earlier 'issues' with a PS3? I can't make it fit with components well, it would have to stand up like the Wii does. That silver cable box really hurts the looks of it all. And also the unprofessional crap on the sub and on the top of the stand, so I know all of that, it doesn't need to be pointed out to me :). The cords on top of the stand are a 15' dvi to hdmi cable that I run to my powerbook, and to the left of the reciever you can see the 6' audio line I run to the reciever from the powerbook. So I have a well featured setup, just now is the process of making it look fantastic. I'm on my way to doing that with a mac mini which I'm writing this post on right now, it is going to replace my c2d media comp which is behind the right speaker and dvd rack.

Well you could chuck your old xbox away and slide the PS3 in there :p

Nice set up by the way

Lol my house is 2 much lookin like s*** to post my whole set up. When i move soon then i'll update with my new set up. But SNG u have something very nice going on there. That cable box does spoil the fun but if you could find a way to put it next to the PS3 it would not look so bad, and it still doesn't.

Thanks for the info. God of war 2 is a great game, check the rating/review here if you want (unless you already have it :D). It's going to be on PS3 so the graphics should be good if you have a HDTV. Who has played God of war 2?

The Playstation 3 has outsold the Xbox 360 in January.

    Yea we know lolz

It caught up 2 the Wii damn near.

I am going to be one dissapointed PS3 owner if the BC thing is thrown out the window b-cuz the 60gig PS3 SKU's will eventually crap out and when i buy my 2nd PS3 I want to play my PS2 games on it instead of connecting my PS2!

What??? Did you just say you were gonna throw it out the window and the PS3's will all crap out??

I am sorry, but could you explain?

    LMFAO @ Mopar

Im saying, on the main page they talk about Sony Dis-continuing Backwards Compatability, the feature that enables us to play PS2 games on a PS3. If that happens I am going to be a dissapointed PS3 owner because i think my 60Gig PS3 will crap out and die one day and I definitely dont wana fire up my PS2 lol.

You do have a point but inmagine how i feel, i don't even have the 60GB one! Where could i get a brand new one in the UK?

Why don't you just get another model? I have a 60Gb one but i didn't buy it with the sole intention of playing PS2 games on it, or for it's backwards compatibility. I do use it, but not very often and only because no longer have access to a PS2. If you still have a PS2, play PS2 games on that. It's not much hassle and it was built for that afterall.

Why do you think your 60gb PS3 will crap out, the failure rate of that particular sku is less then 3% the 40gb on the other hand has a lot more problems. And ya btw if you bought a ps3 with the sole intention of playing your ps2 games on it thats kinda pointless, I find load times to actually be longer on the ps3 then on my ps2 and my ps2 is 5 years old, still works like new may i add. Just leave it plugged in or leave the cables pluged in and when you really feel the need to play a ps2 games plug it in. Oh ya SNGX thats one cluttered mess of components and hardware.

LOLZ well i guess Sony is right to assume PS3 owners dont really care about BC. Well im ok with plugging in my PS2...i have the bigger old version but I have not played a PS2 game in over 4-5 months. I have a 360 so I guess thats kinda why and soon to be a game rig..in which ima make a thread 4..but ne ways. I didnt buy my PS3 2 play PS2 games but thats why i have one the the first models. I say give it to 2010 and i bet something is going to crap out on it. I get a tripple beep sometimes and i googled it and it doesnt seem like anything serious but I am just suspicious I guess.

Ya mine tends to do all kinds of weird beeping noises and the lights flash randomly, but i figure thats part of the Sony quality assurance it probably means there spying on us or they're stealing our vital information

Guess a lot of you were too young to remember when none of the consoles were backwards compatible.

The 60GB PS3 seems to have problems with the lens failing. I have two friends who own them and their lenses failed in exactly the same way and within 3-4 months of purchase. They said they were playing a game when suddenly, the console just 'hanged'. They tried pressing some buttons on the controller but the game just didn't respond. When they hit the reset button, the console just refused to recognize any disk they popped in. One of them had to actually go to the UK and get the lens replaced because his sister sent it to him as a birthday gift from there and the warranty wasn't valid here. And the pre-loading thingy is also quite irritating IMO.

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to buy one at home rather than fly to the UK? Or they could have just sent it back to the person that sent it to them in the first place.
