I'm upgrading from an AGP setup to a new SLi motherboard on a limited budget.
Since I can't reuse my AGP card, I need to get a good PCI-x video card. But good ones are more than I can afford right now ($200+). Might I see similar (even better) performance if I use two lower-end SLi cards instead of one high-end card? Or are SLi's performance advantages only noticeable when doing 3D and such?
I can get a couple of G-Force 7300's for around $85 each. I can just buy one now and add a second for Christmas.
