QNAP TS-1635 Review: Quad-core ARM-based, 16-bay NAS

I've been trying to get my hands on QNAP's new quad-core, 16-bay TS-1635 ever since it was announced. Marketed as a cost-effective business NAS, it's definitely not cheap at a little over $1,000, but looking at the competition we find QNAP is well positioned where it counts.

Without 10GbE the benchmark results are rather meaningless.
10GbE Intel X520-DA2 adapters can be had on eBay for peanuts. Could you really not put something together to test 10GbE?

Huh? Surely you would just use direct attach cables to uplink to a switch.

10GbE makes this NAS future proof... Benchmarking at 10GbE is a must to a device like this.
