Question: NAS from a old hp server

Hi everyone
I plan to make a NAS myselft from an old hp server DL360.
Before Christmas days I have much time to solve the problems.
For saving energie, I set the cpu frequency to 300Mhz and closed some features in bios.
I have 3 300GB sas hdds. Can I use all 3 hdds with raid? Or 2 of them?
What software is the best for the low cpu frequency?
I am very appreciated when some one helps me.
Merry christmas to all!

Server HDs are usually SCSI, not SATA so verify the connections.
If they're compatible, do you intend to run them as exterion HDs or in an enclosure as Raid?

It is an option. Do you mean extension HDs? It is not stabile and USB is too slow.
My HDs are not SATA, are SAS like these.
Actually I bought them with the server here.
Can I use HDs with different capacity?

Yes, that's what they look like, but what kind of cables are used to connect is the question.
btw: USB 3.0 is very fast.
