Qwest has announced that its remaining wireless customers have 60 days to find another provider, as the company will shut down its wireless services by October 31. In Qwest's recent earnings report, it claimed to have 763,000 wireless customers, but less than a quarter used the old Qwest Wireless and instead signed with Verizon.

Under an agreement, Qwest has been reselling Verizon Wireless to its customers as "Qwest Wireless." A few years prior, they had a similar partnership with Sprint. Given the partnership, subscribers who switch to Verizon will receive combined billing statements and deals on handsets.

Qwest is also allowing its customers to port their number to another phone and carrier. Starting next month, when Qwest Wireless subscribers make an outgoing call it will be first be forwarded to a customer service agent who will remind them of the coming cancellation.

hm; looks like Guest is disputing Guest; isn't that schizophrenia :)

Well Qwest is very, very confusing... going from bad to worse, when you just cannot believe they could become any worser.

Guest1 is right Guest2, I have been working in the Voice and Data industry for 10 years. My dad worked for the industry for 45 years. The general consensus even for ex-employees of Qwest is they suck royally. You don’t have to be educated to know this, just being even a friend of a customer is enough.

I had a client that used quest with no problems for 2 years, they elected to upgrade their T1 to bonded T1's and all was well. Until 6 months later, they got hit with a bill for $22,000. Qwest was unable to explain the charges but refused to adjust them. So it's now in collections and the client's been migrated to XO which so far has been smooth sailing.
