    Hi guys.

My friend recently built me a great computer. Only problem with it is that I can’t play War Craft 3 and Star Wars for more than 10 minutes – the computer crashes and frezzes.

I have the 9500 Radeon Pro card, and the Asus P4P800-VM motherboard. To my knowledge I have the catalyst 3.6 installed, and the latest motherboard driver.

    I found this thread here - http://www.techspot.com/vb/showthread/t-6108.html
, and installed the Intel chipset software utility, but that did not fix the problem.

Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Get all the latest updates for your drivers and software. Also there is now Catalyst 3.7 now, and it may have a few bug fixes too.

    Make sure you update the:
    video
    sound
    direct x
    windows os (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)

Also, fool around with your video card settings.

Additionally, there may be BIOS settings that should be set/fixed properly.

Does the sound loop when it freezes? Or just locks up and kicks you from the game? And is the only way around it a cold restart or can you pull up task manager?

Sounds like overheating to me. Download Speedfan and check out your temps.
