Radeon 9800 PRO and terrible 3dMark

Getting pretty bad results with 3d Marks 2001 with this system:

P4 3G 800mhz FBS 512ch
1024 PC 3200
Radeon 9800 PRO
Asus P4C800 Motherboard

I get an average of 14800 and my scores never surpassing 15000. Comparing it with simmilar systems I find I'm getting about 2000-4000 less than I should be. Any suggestions?

did you make sure to have AA and AF set to application preference under Direct3D in the ATi control panel?

are you running your ram in dual channel mode?

also try to unload any unnecessary programs that load during startup.

Both of those are set to application. How do I tell if my memory is in duel channel mode?

Also, I noticed my Smartgart setting is "Off" and when I try setting it to 8x the settings never apply after the restart (and my motherboard does support 8x) Could this be the problem?

Try re-installing your AGP Drivers (mobo chipset drivers)
