I've heard mixed reports and am not sure if it is, or is not, a good idea to defrag my RAID-0 volume.

I'm sitting around 10% fragmentation, but would like to see it lower.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks -Joe

It's always a good idea to defrag... For single and arrays. However, with modern disks, you'll be hard pressed to notice the difference as a human being unless the volume is very, very, very heavily fragmented.

As for most people, defragging it once a month or so should keep you golden.

RAID arrays don't treat fragmentation any differently than a single drive. I'm unaware of any additional performance penalties caused by fragmentation and striping, although I would think it feasable. Perhaps someone will have more info on this.
