Raid array question

A friend of mine set up his new computer but in the mean time he set up a raid array with only one computer. I am not familiar with the abit way of doing it but it looks like it is a 0 array. If he only is using one disk will that cut into performance?

Raid 0 is supposed to increase performance. Usually it's used to make a large virtual disks out of few small disks with no redundancy, limited by the size of the smallest disk.
