Ram Problems

  1. hi,

    i recently bought a GB stick of ddr ram, when i installed it and booted up. all of my programs keep crashing. i thought ram was simply plug and play? and help on this matter would be great

    There is no such thing as "Plug and play" it is always "plug and pray"

    Did you leave your old RAM in there?

    Fill in your system profile so we know what kind of motherboard and RAM you have.

    i agree with nodsu if u dont have the old ram in the system try memtest from memtest86.com and let it run for seven passes to check the RAM

    need your mobo specs to figure out what's going on.

    is the mem the same speed as the old? (pc2100, 2700, etc..)
