Ram question

I have a Compaq dc5750 that would of had pc 5300 ram but it has none atm, but I have some pc 6400 will it work? I mean all the other specs are ok, but it's pc 6400. thx

There is only one way to find out. That is to try it. If it does work it will not run at 6400 unless the motherboard supports that speed. If the motherboard only supports 5300, the memory modules will down clock to 5300.
