Hi,

I'm sufferring from random reboots on a newly built machine during use. memtest doesnt report any problems. I've used Windows Debuggng tools to 'read' the dump file but it doesnt mean anything to me. Hoping someone on here can read it for me and highlight the cause! Thanks

Bugcheck 51, Registry Error, this problem is caused by a race condition on the input user-mode buffer for a registry function call.

There are couple of options to consider about correcting this error:

1. Download SP3 and install it, see whether that helps.
2. Do a repair install.

By the way did you rebooted your system without properly shutting down at any time?

Your second minidump points at Mcafee AV software file. I suggest you to uninstall it, use any of the alternative freeware options e.g. Avira or Avast or AVG and see whether that helps. Regards

I'm performing a complete new install on this machine.
Then will install XP SP3

Been having lots of problems with Mcafee, constant errors in the app log.
