Re installing new hardware

Hello,

My computer recently crashed and as a result my HD physicaly broke.
I've just bought a new Western Digital 200GB HD off e bay and now need to install it. I thought it would be a simple case of looking what the old drive was set on, ie Master, Slave, etc, changing the new drive to thadt setting and away I go. But it looks like I'm wrong...

I have 2 DVDRWs, 1 100Mb ZIP, 1 standard 3.5 and space for 1 HD (my new 200Gb)

Can someone please tell me what i should have the jumpers set to??

You should set your jumpers to whatever the old drive had..

What exactly goes wrong here?

If it is the only HDD it should be jumpered to Master and connected to the end connector of IDE 1...
