I have a computer that keeps rebooting from a bugcheck. The bugcheck given was: 0x000000d1 (0xbf398e26, 0x000000ff, 0x00000000, 0xbf398e26). I also have a zip file that contains the files written to the computer, but I do not know how to attach it to this message. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Minidump Problem

Hi,

From last few days we are facing a problem related to MiniDump in Windows XP based PC. We are using SP2 of Windows XP. We are using Visual Studio 2005 for software development work. When we work on this PC, normally it does not have any problem but when we use Visual Studio 2005 , PC restart silently without any warning at any point of time in a day. After this when PC restart it shows an error in the System Event manager and it creates a dump file in the C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\ folder.

Error source ="Save Dump"
Error description in System Event Manager= "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000007e (0xc0000005, 0xa9d60a3f, 0xa94f7878, 0xa94f7574). A dump was saved in:C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini072307-02.dmp”.

It happens 3-4 times in a day.

After this i rebuild this PC 3 times and every time same thing happened. I changed my PC also and purchased new PC but result is almost same. I think it is related to Visual Studio 2005 because when we do not work on Visual Studio 2005 it works well but when we switch to VISUAL studio, same problem occurs.

We are using Windows XP (SP2) and PC configuration is Intel-D946GZls Motherboard with 1 GB DDR2 RAM (DDR533) and Core 2 Duo 1.86 Ghz processor. Hard disk is SATA 160 GB.

I am attaching minidump files with this mail . This may help you to identify the problem.

Please help us as soon as possible and let us know , if it is known issue for Microsoft, if not then please let us know the solution of this Problem.

Amitkumars,

All three dumps are crashed by a Norton file. You'll need to update Norton, as the offending file is dated 2001.
