So I was thinking you see. You know I'm fond of music and would like to play around with some audio mixing on my own. I see these big recording studios that have these huge panels(I don't know what they call them) with tons of knobs and levers they use to change the way the audio sounds and wished I had one of them.

Given that CPUs these days are fast, is it possible to simulate these hardwares via software? Is there such a software that's already in existent? I'm not talking about CoolEdit and the likes. Those are nothing.
